Major General Doron Almog served in the IDF from 1969-2004. As head of the Doctrine & Training Division at General Headquarters (GHQ), Almog applied the management principle of “Learning Organization” to the IDF, establishing simulation and war games to improve the learning process and developing strategies for force activation, combat doctrine and management doctrine. As head of the Southern Command during the years 2000-2003, he led the battle on the Palestinian front in accordance with the high management standard of the International Organization for Standardization’s ISO-9001. During that period, the Southern Command succeeded in deterring every suicide bombing attempt to breach its defenses, an achievement of exceptional significance.
